The first five (5) partners who contribute a minimum of $100,000 each through the Hunter Legacy 100 Fund (HL100F) will serve as the founding governing body or advisory committee for the HL100F. The advisory committee, along with the Executive Director (or his designee), will help define the terms and policies for the HL100F. There will be five (5) remaining at-large committee positions reserved for other contributors to the Hunter Legacy 100 Fund. These positions will be filled by vote from the active contributors to the Hunter Legacy 100 Fund. Once the terms and conditions of Hunter Legacy 100 Fund are clearly defined by the advisory committee and the Executive Director, the SCI Foundation Fundraising Committee will assume responsibility for growing the Hunter Legacy 100 Fund. The Hunter Legacy 100 Fund will be invested with the SCI Foundation investment advisor and manager who are overseen by the SCI/SCI Foundation Finance Committee. It has been suggested that the advisory committee meet at least twice per year. One of the meetings may be a spring/summer retreat at one of the SCI Foundation mission projects and the other at the annual SCI Convention. The Hunter Legacy 100 Fund advisory committee will provide to the SCI Foundation Board of Directors, Executive Director and SCI Foundation conservation staff:
The SCI Foundation Executive Director (or his designee) and the ten-member HL100F Advisory Committee will work in partnership to raise and invest the dollars raised for approved mission programs and projects. The ultimate goal, following receipt of all 100 commitments for the Hunter Legacy 100 Fund, will be to expand the charitable giving programs for SCI Foundation to grow the HL100F. These programs may include: establishing a $25-50 million endowment, launching a capital campaign for the mission, building a sound planned giving program and/or spinning off other similar donor recognition programs at other investment levels (i.e., 10 partners at $1 million each).
